Each year, the incoming 1st and 3rd-year REI Fellows are invited to the SREI Fellows’ Symposium. This two-day activity has become a rite of passage for REI Fellows and provides valuable guidance for navigating the next phase in an REI physician’s career and creates a setting for making life-long professional connections with peers and mentors.
The symposium curriculum promotes networking and education in non-traditional subjects, including how to get the most out of fellowship as well as early career guidance, including practical advice for both academic and non-academic careers. Topics of discussion range from how to succeed at developing a fellow thesis, working with other types of practitioners, as well as strategies to manage stress, work-life balance and preparation for life in practice.
